The Access Project This Boston-based nonprofit helps people throughout the country negotiate unaffordable medical bills, as well as conducts and compiles research on a variety of health care policy issues nationally and by state.

U.S. News & World Report Best Health Plans This annual ranking of U.S. health plans by U.S. News & World Report and the National Committee for Quality Assurance, managed care’s leading accrediting and standards-setting body, presents a searchable database of the top-ranking Commercial, Medicare or Medicaid insurance plans. Scores are based on the results of consumer satisfaction surveys and on objective measures of success in preventing and treating illness as compared with the average plan.

Policy Research

Bipartisan Policy Center A non-profit organization that was established in 2007 by former Senate Majority Leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole and George Mitchell in order to develop policy solutions that make sense for the nation and can be embraced by both parties. The Leaders’ Health Care Project seeks to develop and promote policies that can attract bipartisan support from policymakers and lay the necessary foundation for providing all Americans access to quality, affordable health coverage. The project is guided by some of the country’s leading health care experts and will create opportunities for practical dialogue and cooperative solutions on some of the key challenges facing the nation’s health care system.
