now hiringWe are hiring a new Content Manager/Writer. 

Here are the details:

The Content Manager will work closely with the Executive Editor to:

Develop bi-monthly research pieces on different facets of America’s broken health care system; and

Determine the direction of the website and its future development .

The Content Manager will also:

Create daily blog posts on health care policy news and developments;

Use campaign software to send out bi-monthly email blasts to readership list of thousands;

Track the site’s statistics through Google Analytics;

Promote the website through its Facebook page and on other blogs and websites;

Generally keep abreast of political trends in health care reform, as well as web trends, and how the site can capitalize on these trends and developments.

Qualifications

College degree;

Web-savvy;

Proficiency in qualitative research;

Communications and writing experience, preferably web-related;

Ability to write at an 8th-grade reading level;

Familiarity with CMS (WordPress), WYSIWYG editors, and basic HTML coding;

Familiarity with campaign software (NGP);

Understanding of health care policy and an interest in promoting progressive policy reform; and

Ability to work independently as well as be a good team player.

Ideally, we are hoping to find someone who is capable of being creative in coming up with compelling ways to frame the site’s message and to devise content that supports that message.

Priority will be given to residents of Western Pennsylvania, although residents of other nearby East Coast cities (New York, DC and Philadelphia) will be considered as well.

30 hours/per week.  Hours negotiable.  Competitive salary and benefits.
