Pittsburgh Single-Payer Conference this Sunday!

single-payerThis Sunday, June 14th, 2009, the Western Pa Coalition for Single-Payer Healthcare is hosting a FREE conference on this important policy option in Pittsburgh, PA.  So if you don’t have plans, and you are interested in learning more about a government-financed, single-payer health insurance system, be sure to stop by.

Specifically, the conference will be held from 1-5 PM at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (616 N. Highland Avenue).

The keynote address will be delivered by U.S. Representative Eric Massa (D-NY).  Mr. Massa is co-chair of the HR 676 Caucus in the US House, and is a passionate supporter of proposed single-payer legislation.

Other speakers will include Walter Tsou, MD, MPH, former Health Commissioner of Philadelphia, and PA State Senator Jim Ferlo.
